Stuart Blythe This album has a sunny, breezy feel that lifts my spirits. Perhaps it is because this group is from Madrid, Spain, and perhaps it is because I encountered this album during the darkest days of a Michigan (U.S.) winter. Whatever the reason, I'm grateful to The Born Messengers for making a Michigan winter brighter. Favorite track: Jesse's Samba.

about

(EN)
For the 5th anniversary of GUZZO (a cosmopolitan and dynamic club-restaurant in Barcelona that mixes urban culture, creative and traditional cuisine, cocktails and Black American music), the idea came up to record a couple of songs with some of the best musicians that played on the intimate stage of the club. A concept built to grow and last over time: TBM (The Born Messengers), directed by Fred Guzzo & Raynald Colom.

For this first Volume, in collaboration with the “24 Kilates” sneakers store, who supports entertainment and creative activities in Barcelona’s Neighborhood El Born, we gathered more than 10 musicians from different geographical and cultural backgrounds (Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico) to honor the music that has inspired us: 60’s Jazz, 70’s soul, 80’s fusion, and the raw energy of the 90’s hip-hop and drum'n'bass.
